in the aftermath of the passing of proposition 8, the reunited members of boyzone has released their first gender sensitive video and also their first single from their latest album. i actually started giggling when it gets to the scene of stephen gately and his male partner. i’m not sure if i’m jealous or that i find it weird coming from a boyband.

even though what happened in california was very disappointing, with this video it seems that gay acceptance is indeed better.

today, mother belle invited us to the blessing of her new resto along dapitan, at the back of ust. going back to ust brought back some memories and i’m not sure if i got teary eyed or if it was just the manila air pollution that got to my eye.

indecent proposal

this is a sad news not only for those directly affected by the passing of proposition 8 in california, but for the whole gay and lesbian community. personally, i don’t agree with same-sex marriages and gay couples adopting to build a family. i just feel like if i really love my partner that much i wouldn’t need to demand the court to wed us. it is something that can be arranged as a couple. as for adopting, i feel that it’s too much already, unless of course one of the couple already has a child/children. but of course, it is a prerogative to make a move for such rights. i disagree with proposition 8, as it actually inhibits this right to at least be heard. proposition 8 tells us that this is not even possible and if that’s the case, it is already discriminatory and therefore unconstitutional.

it is indeed historical for barrack obama to become the first black american president. winning with the promise of change, the rest of the world awaits what this renewed hope has to offer. may god bless america …

trick or treat

it has been a while since i actually went out and explore the night scene. usually my nightlife is the dinner right after seeing a movie, and if my friends and i decide to party some more we have coffee or dessert. oh please don’t judge me! anyways last night, i decided to come out of this particular closet and revel in the halloween parties that’s all over manila.

one thing i noticed is the parity between the A crowd and the not-so-A crowd. don’t get me wrong because i believe that a party is a party regardless of its social inclinations. but while i was with the A’s, i couldn’t help but notice the effort people make to look good from all angles. in other words, i was exhausted bwahahaha. it was really fun and it felt good to be surrounded by beautiful people.

since i was already out i thought it would be a great idea to visit the malate crowd. when i got there it was more than fabulous, it was gay. maybe this is what i expected halloween parties would be. the crowd was wild. and there were people all over the place. it’s not the high end event that i would normally feel comfortable with, but this is “an” event minus the pretentions.

sometimes a gay guy just needs to be in the gay scene every once in a while.
